Privacy Policy
Effective date: 09/03/2026 | Last updated: 09/03/2026
1. Overview
Bryles Research is committed to protecting the privacy and personal information of the people who participate in our market research studies, the clients who commission that research, and the visitors to this website. This policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, how we protect it, who we share it with, and the choices you have.
Bryles Research collects personal information solely for legitimate market research purposes. We do not sell, rent or trade personal information. We do not use the information you give us for advertising or sales solicitation.
2. Who We Are
Bryles Research operates two market research facilities and is part of the Insights Center network:
• Bryles Research — Chicago, 9405 Enterprise Drive, Mokena, IL 60448 · 708.478.3333
• Bryles Research — Dallas, 3308 Essex Drive, Richardson, TX 75082 · 972.581.1050
We conduct qualitative and quantitative research — including focus groups, central location tests, sensory and taste testing, home use tests, scent studies and tactile evaluations — on behalf of client organizations.
While Bryles Research recruits, screens and hosts studies, our clients determine each study’s objectives and eligibility criteria.
3. Information We Collect
Joining the Bryles Research participant database is entirely voluntary, and you choose how much information to provide. Depending on how you interact with us, we may collect:
• Contact information — name, email address, postal address, telephone number
• Demographic information — age, gender, race or ethnicity, household composition, education, income
• Lifestyle and behavioral information relevant to study screening — product usage, purchasing habits, dietary restrictions, allergies, brand preferences
• Study responses — survey answers, and audio, video or written responses recorded during a study
• Account information — the login and password you create for the participant portal
• Incentive information — the details needed to deliver your honorarium
• Website information — general, non-identifying traffic data such as pages viewed and referring site
Why demographic detail matters. Participant lists are generated from our database against each study’s screening criteria. If a piece of information is missing from your profile, your record is simply excluded from that list. You remain in the database and eligible for future studies.
4. How We Collect It
• Directly from you when you register, update your profile, complete a screening survey, or take part in a study
• From our telephone screening and recruiting calls
• From our participant portal and the online survey platforms we use to run studies
• Through standard website analytics, as described in section 11
5. How We Use Your Information
We use personal information to:
• Screen and recruit participants for research studies
• Contact you about studies you may qualify for, by phone, email or text
• Conduct and analyze research on behalf of our clients
• Maintain accurate participant profiles
• Deliver incentives and honoraria
• Validate participation and maintain data quality
• Respond to business inquiries and bid requests
We do not use your information for advertising, marketing solicitation or any non-research purpose.
6. How We Share Information
With clients
We limit what we share with clients to what a specific study genuinely requires. Last names, telephone numbers and home addresses are not shared unless required for a pre-study assignment, incentive fulfilment or post-study validation.
Anything you choose to disclose about yourself during a focus group or interview, in front of a client representative, is outside our control and is not governed by this policy.
With service providers
We use a small number of vendors to operate our business — including our participant portal and survey platform provider for incentive delivery. These providers may only use your information to perform services for us.
For legal reasons
We may disclose information where required by law, subpoena or other legal process, or to protect the rights, safety or property of Bryles Research, our participants or others.
What we never do
We do not sell, rent, trade or otherwise disclose your personal information for anyone else’s marketing purposes.
7. Recording and Observation
Studies may be observed by clients through one-way mirrors or closed-circuit video, and may be audio- or video-recorded, strictly for market research purposes.
You will be asked to sign a Bryles Research disclosure and consent agreement when you arrive for a study, and you will be told before any recording begins. Recordings are provided only to the client who commissioned that study.
8. Children and Minors
Bryles Research occasionally recruits minors for research studies. When we do, we comply with all applicable federal and state law relating to child safety and privacy, including obtaining verifiable parental or guardian consent before a minor participates and before any information about a minor is collected.
A parent or guardian must remain on site for the duration of a study involving a minor. A parent or guardian may review, correct or request deletion of their child’s information at any time using the contact details in section 15.
9. Identification Requirements
All participants and visitors must present valid photo identification on arrival at a Bryles Research facility. We check identification to confirm you are the person recruited; we do not retain copies unless a specific study requires it for validation, in which case you will be told at the time.
10. Data Security and Retention
We maintain administrative, technical and physical safeguards appropriate to the sensitivity of the information we hold, including:
• Secure in-house servers with restricted, role-based access
• Access limited to a small number of trained, authorised personnel
• Confidentiality and non-disclosure agreements signed by every Bryles Research employee
• Secure physical storage for any paper records, during and after processing
• Secure, access-restricted backups
Electronic call lists contain only the abbreviated information a specific study requires. They remain in our call center for the duration of that project, after which they are returned to data processing for profile updates and deleted.
We keep participant profiles for as long as you remain an active member of our database. You may ask to be removed at any time (section 12).
No system can be guaranteed completely secure, but we review our safeguards regularly and act promptly if a problem is identified.
11. Website and Internet Practices
Analytics
We use Google Analytics to collect general, non-identifying traffic information — pages viewed, approximate region, referring site, device type — to help us improve the site. We do not attempt to identify individual visitors from this data.
Cookies
This website uses cookies and similar technologies that are necessary for the site to function, together with analytics cookies that help us understand how the site is used. You can block or delete cookies through your browser settings; parts of the site may not work as intended if you do.
Email links and inquiries
This site provides email links so visitors can contact us with questions, bid requests and business inquiries. We use the information in your message only to respond to it or to begin the business contact you requested. Messages may be retained for record-keeping and service-quality purposes.

This site links to websites operated by other facilities in the Insights Center network and by third parties. We are not responsible for their content or privacy practices, and we encourage you to read the privacy policy of any site you visit.

12. Your Choices and Rights
Whatever jurisdiction you live in, you may at any time:
• Access the information we hold about you
• Correct anything inaccurate — log in to your account and use the My Profile link, or contact us
• Delete your profile and be removed from our database
• Opt out of contact by phone, email or text, or decline any individual study
To exercise any of these, contact our Privacy Administrator using the details in section 15. We will verify your identity before acting on a request, and will respond within the timeframe required by applicable law.
California residents
Under the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended, California residents have the right to know what personal information we collect, use and disclose; to request deletion or correction of that information; and to opt out of its sale or sharing. Bryles Research does not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined by the CCPA, and has not done so in the preceding twelve months. We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of these rights.
Residents of the EEA and the United Kingdom
If you are in the EEA or UK, you also have the right to object to or restrict processing, the right to data portability, and the right to lodge a complaint with your supervisory authority. We process participant information on the basis of your consent and our legitimate interest in conducting market research; where we rely on consent, you may withdraw it at any time without affecting processing already carried out.
13. Telephone Monitoring
Screening and interviewing calls may be monitored or recorded for training and quality assurance purposes.
14. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy to reflect changes in our operations or in applicable law. The effective date at the top of this page will always show when it was last revised. Material changes will be posted here, and we encourage you to review the page periodically.
15. Contact Us
Bryles Research has designated a Privacy Policy Administrator responsible for overseeing our privacy practices and responding to questions and requests.
